Join to apply for the Domestic Assistant role at NHS Scotland.
The successful candidate will provide domestic service to patients, staff and visitors of NHS Lanarkshire (NHSL) premises through effective and efficient methods, delivering a safe and welcoming environment and meeting the required NHSL and Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) standards. The role may involve working alongside and supporting new staff in the working environment.
Location
Coathill Hospital, Domestic Services Department.
Responsibilities
* Provide domestic services to patients, staff and visitors in a hospital setting in line with NHSL standards.
* Support new staff in the working environment.
What we'll need you to bring
* Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures.
* Willingness to undertake on-the-job training and induction (typically 4–6 weeks) to achieve full competency across a range of duties.
* Working knowledge of Health & Safety, including participation in risk assessment of individual tasks.
* Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training.
* Undertake mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) standards.
* Undertake and complete NHSS Domestic Services Workbook.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively and efficiently in a busy environment.
* Working knowledge of basic information technology.
Note: If a driving licence is required for the role, a full UK/EU/EEA licence is required.
Nice-to-have
* Recognised SVQ or relevant equivalent qualification.
* Experience working in a domestic services/cleaning environment.
* Ability to use a range of electrical cleaning equipment.
Contract and Working Pattern
Contract type: Permanent. Part time, 14.08 hours per week. Salary pro-rata.
Location: Domestic Services Department within Coathill Hospital.
Working pattern: Mon–Thu 16:00–19:00; Fri 16:00–18:48.
