Are you an experienced Production Engineer looking for your next opportunity supporting solutions within the manufacturing and Aerospace/Defence sector? Do you have a background in electrical engineering? If so, the following permanent role might be for you.
On behalf of my client, a global Aerospace and Defence manufacturer based in Greater Manchester, I am pleased to present the opportunity for a Production Engineer on a permanent basis.
This role is primarily responsible for providing technical support for products within the Operations function.

You will be responsible for:
* Supporting technical engineering input within Operations (Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain).
* Supporting the technical justification for change control within an Operations environment.
* Supporting the supply chain with technical queries.
* Supporting the Engineering (NPI) function with change control feedback.
* Presenting change control technical rationale to the Engineering Design Authority.
* Supporting the implementation of cost-effective, best-practice technological methods to enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction.
You:
* Are an experienced engineer from a similar industry, demonstrating multi-functional engineering competence.
* Have a solid understanding of Lean Principles and process variation (Green Belt desirable).
* Have a solid understanding of Core Manufacturing tools and can implement OEE, Value Stream Mapping, and Continuous Improvement methods like Kaizen.
* Understand APQP to assist members of the NPI Team.
* Hold at least an HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering with experience in electronic manufacturing (Aerospace experience is highly desirable).
* Can problem solve a wide range of technical issues (Mechanical, Electrical & Process).
* Are proactive in using methods like PFMEA or Ishikawa to prevent failures in Customer/Production environments.
