Come and join our Absolute Taste Travel Team, providing catering on a number of high-profile contracts, focusing on rail and private jet catering. The travel team is a 365-day operation with a variety of offerings, from bespoke fine dining for our private jet customers and up to 12,000 dishes per day for our rail contracts.
As a Team Leader, you will be responsiblefor overseeing the day-to-day operations of the production line, ensuring thatproduction targets are met while maintaining quality and safety standards. Youwill lead a team of production staff, providing guidance, training, and supportto ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
The Team Leader plays a crucial role inoverseeing and managing a team to ensure efficient and effective operationswithin a department or organization. You will be responsible for guiding,supervising, and motivating team members to achieve performance goals anddeliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and lead a team of employees, providing guidance, direction, and support as needed.
2. Set clear goals and objectives for theteam and individual team members, ensuring alignment with organizationalobjectives.
3. Monitor team performance and productivity, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
4. Train new team members and provide ongoing coaching and development to existing team members to foster skill development and career growth.
5. Foster a positive work environment characterized by open communication, collaboration, and mutual respect.
6. Address any issues or conflicts within the team in a timely and constructive manner, promoting resolution and maintaining team morale.
7. Serve as a point of contact between team members and management, relaying information, concerns, and feedback as appropriate.
8. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations, and promote adherence to safety standards and best practices.
9. Collaborate with other departments or teams to achieve cross-functional objectives and deliver integrated solutions.
10. Provide regular reports and updates to management on team performance, progress towards goals, and any relevant issues or challenges.
Qualifications and Skills:
11. Previous experience in a food production environment, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
12. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and coach team members.
13. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
14. Understanding of food safety regulations and quality standards are preferred.
15. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
16. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
17. Flexibility to work shifts and weekends as required.
18. Relevant qualifications in food production, manufacturing, or a related field are preferred.
19. Computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), experience with production labelling software systems will be advantage.

The role is 40 hours per week (5 days out of 7). A mixture of early and late shifts on a rota produced at least 1 month in advance. Flexibility is required to work weekends on a rotational basis.
