Are you a highly motivated, passionate and adaptable clinical leader? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a substantive full time Band 7 Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist Team based at Watford Hospital.
You will work as part of a team of Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists and will also work effectively as an autonomous practitioner. You will be a vital core member of the Lung Cancer multidisciplinary team providing specialist advice and support to both patients and their families as well as other health care professionals. You will also act as a key worker for patients with lung cancer at all stages of the cancer pathway.
Main duties of the job
* Influence patient care through clinical practice, clinical management, leadership, education, research and audit in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
* Deliver supportive care requirements for patients with lung cancer.
* Undertake initial assessment of patients with suspected lung cancer and request appropriate investigations.
* Communicate complex and sensitive information as a core element of daily practice.
