Veritas Education is currently recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary/secondary school in Islington. This is a full-time role starting immediately, ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) on both a 1:1 basis and within small groups.
The Role
* Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language needs
* Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support
* Providing 1:1 support to students to help them access the curriculum and reach their full potential
* Leading or assisting in small group interventions
* Monitoring progress and reporting to relevant staff
* Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
Requirements
* Experience working with children with SEN (in a school or similar setting)
* Confident supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* A proactive, flexible, and patient approach
* A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
Desirable
* Experience with Makaton, PECs, or other SEN-specific strategies
* Relevant TA or SEN qualifications
* Experience working in London schools
