This role will be responsible for a wide variety of operational tasks involving the production and supply of spectacle lenses, and will include computer-based tasks, as well as practical, hands-on tasks using our machinery and checking and packaging our products. This role requires an extremely proactive, positive and flexible approach to work.

Primary Functions:
1. Conduct stock counts, and report discrepancies.
2. Carry out lens re-sleeving activity for orders within UK market
3. Logistics activity such as packing and shipment of goods
4. Facilitate and process frames and lenses for demo products
5. Perform routine equipment cleaning and calibration checks and assist in preventive maintenance scheduling
6. Support lens manufacturing processes, including handling, inspection, labelling, and packaging.
7. Conduct periodic maintenance activities on laser systems following work instructions, logging results on asset control software
8. Organize and sort R&D lens sample collection
9. Conduct trials on laser systems following protocols/guidance
10. Conduct measurements of lens features on microscopes
11. Grasp measurement concepts and understand importance of quality measurements
12. Perform basic analysis on measurement results
13. Liaise with other manufacturing sites to organize lens sample deliveries and lens sourcing for trials
14. Organise calibration for production equipment (. power meters)
15. Supplier management
16. Purchase order requests
17. Receipt & booking in of orders
18. Shipping items internationally
19. Assist in the set up and validation of laser systems
To support / in absence of Customer Service & Supply Chain Manager:
20. Monitor and record customer orders - input data into order management systems and ensure accuracy
21. Support order processing: creating invoices, printing documentation, and arranging shipments
22. Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure timely delivery and resolve shipping issues
23. Provide reporting support for order status and inventory
24. Act as a backup manufacturing operator for production days
25. 3+ years’ experience working within a busy environment.
26. Experience on all MS Office applications, including an excellent working knowledge of MS excel.
27. Analytical skills.
28. Previous experience of working within Optics is desirable.
29. Previous experience of working within manufacturing is desirable.
30. Excellent communication skills.
31. Must be a team player with the ability to work cross functionally as an individual contributor in a fast paced, startup environment.
