Purpose of the role
In this diverse and interesting role, you’ll be part of a supportive team giving our members high quality advice on a range of legal and technical issues. You’ll also write knowledgeable articles and guidance notes for internal and external publications, and handle member inquiries sympathetically and professionally over the phone.
What you’ll be doing
* Provide calm, knowledgeable, and accessible legal, technical and policy-related advice to NFU members over the phone and in writing where necessary.
* Draft and maintain legal guides, template agreements and documents, manuals, advisory articles and web pages.
* Offer training on legal areas and present on a range of issues at stakeholder meetings.
* Work closely with colleagues in your team and other NFU departments to provide expert advice.
* Advise on a variety of topics across Land (including rights of way, Landlord & Tenant), Employment, Environment, Agriculture, Transport and general legal matters; some areas may include drafting services and consultancy offerings.
What you’ll bring
You’ll have a Law degree or related degree or other relevant legal qualification, with knowledge of either Land Law or Employment Law and a willingness to learn other areas. You’ll have experience providing expert legal advice to a variety of people, strong customer service ethic, and the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly. You’ll be a clear writer with strong research skills, comfortable working with diverse enquiries and able to manage your time effectively while supporting colleagues.
