Ob Title: Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Teaching Assistant
Location: Llanelli, Ammanford, and surrounding schools (within 30 minutes’ travel)

We are seeking a skilled and resilient Additional Learning Needs Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged pupils across a range of schools in Llanelli, Ammanford, and nearby areas.
About the Role
As an ALN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored, one-to-one and small group support for children with additional learning needs. This may include:
* Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
* Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
* Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
* Challenging behaviour
Some roles will also involve supporting pupils with personal care, so flexibility and a compassionate approach are essential.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
* Experienced in supporting children with ALN, ideally in a primary school setting
* Strong, capable, and proactive, with the ability to stay calm under pressure
* Adaptable, able to use a range of strategies to engage and support children with complex needs
* Caring and patient, with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
Requirements
* Previous ALN or SEN experience (essential)
* Understanding of strategies for ASD, PMLD, SEMH, and behavioural needs
* Willingness and capability to support with personal care duties where required
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply)
* Relevant qualifications or specialist training (desirable but not essential)
