Operational Management
1. Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of logistics staff across goods inwards, distribution, linen, uniforms and post room services.
2. Allocate workloads and deploy staff resources effectively in response to service demand and operational pressures.
3. Monitor service delivery to ensure tasks are completed accurately, safely and in line with departmental procedures.
4. Investigate and resolve routine operational issues, escalating risks, incidents or recurring problems to line management as required.
Staff Supervision and Workforce Management
5. Provide day-to-day supervision and support to logistics colleagues, promoting effective team working and high standards of performance.
6. Manage staff rotas, sickness absence and annual leave to ensure adequate service cover.
7. Support recruitment activity, staff induction and training.
8. Undertake staff appraisals and provide ongoing guidance, feedback and performance support.
9. Ensure all staff complete and maintain compliance with mandatory and role-specific training requirements.
Stock Control and Resource Management
10. Oversee stock control processes for goods, linen and uniforms, ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained across wards, departments and central storage areas.
11. Ensure accurate stock counts, replenishment and rotation processes are followed.
12. Monitor uniform ordering and issuing processes, ensuring records are accurate and support inter-departmental recharges where applicable.
13. Ensure storage areas are organised, clean and secure, minimising risk of contamination or loss.
Systems, Processes and Governance
14. Ensure accurate and compliant use of procurement, inventory and parcel tracking systems by self and team members.
15. Support the purchase-to-pay process by ensuring goods received are correctly recorded.
16. Maintain appropriate documentation, records and system entries in line with Trust requirements.
17. Support audits, surveys and service reviews, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Health, Safety and Compliance
18. Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times, including appropriate manual handling and use of equipment.
19. Promote compliance with Trust policies, infection prevention and control standards, and health and safety legislation.
20. Ensure equipment is used correctly, stored securely and reported for repair or maintenance when required.
21. Assist patients and visitors during incidental contact, acting in a helpful and professional manner.
Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
22. Act as a point of contact for internal stakeholders, responding to queries and resolving service-related issues.
23. Communicate effectively with external suppliers, contractors and couriers as required.
24. Provide clear guidance to staff and stakeholders on logistics processes and procedures.

25. Relevant experience in logistics, supply chain, stores or distribution services
26. Willingness to undertake further training as required

27. Evidence of supervisory or team leadership training
