Purpose of Role The Assistant Management Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the preparation, analysis, and reporting of financial information that helps Management in strategic planning, budgeting, and controlling costs. Under the guidance of the Group Financial Controller, the role will contribute to enhancing the efficiency of the Finance Department, ensuring the effective use of our ERP system, and supporting the Senior Management Accountants during critical periods such as month-end, year-end, and audits. This role is pivotal in fostering strong, collaborative relationships, with a focus on maintaining financial integrity and accuracy Key Responsibilities Monthly Management Accounts: Assist in the preparation of Monthly Management Accounts for all overseas subsidiaries. This includes but is not limited to: Intercompany reconciliations, Bank, Sales, and Purchase Ledger reconciliations. Preparation and posting of Prepayments, Accruals, and Fixed Asset and other journals. Assist Group Financial Controller with month end task for Brigade Holdings. Assisting with Balance Sheet Reconciliation if required. Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of information for financial statements and other financial reports that provide critical insights into the company’s financial performance. Monitor and report on business expenses, ensuring accurate recording and effective cost management. Data Accuracy & Compliance: Ensure the accuracy of all financial transactions, adhering to organisational accounting policies, relevant regulations and are consistent. Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT, Intrastats, and other statutory reports for EU countries. Collaborate with external accounting and tax advisors to ensure full compliance with regulations in all EU countries. Additionally, support the reconciliation process to align our internal records with those of external providers, ensuring accuracy and maintenance of mapping between G-L accounts. Year-End Audit Preparation: Contribute to the preparation of year-end audit files, ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate and readily available. Cross-Functional Support: Work with the Group Financial Controller and Senior Management Accountants to identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies in transactional processing across the Group. AAT Level 4 qualified (minimum), with active study towards ACCA or CIMA Willing to continuously develop accounting skills and knowledge Knowledge of ERP systems and processes. Very good excel skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction. Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Attention to detail in planning, execution, and follow-through. A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement. Flexibility to work beyond normal business hours when required.
