Salary: £51,577.33 - £68,769.77 Closing Date: 9th February Please be advised this is a 24 month FTC NATS is the UK's leading air navigation service provider, handling over 2.4 million flights each year. We provide air traffic control services from two control centres and at airports around the UK. We also provide a wide range of commercial products and solutions internationally. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE Learning Specialists understand a performance or learning gap within the business and create a solution to resolve this with support from the wider Learning and Development team. With educational or training backgrounds and expertise, this role will work alongside HR colleagues to understand, analyse, and evaluate the non-technical learning and development needs across multiple business areas. It will focus upon designing and delivering engaging and creative learning solutions across a variety of roles. ACCOUNTABILITIES Establish, measure, and manage metrics and performance criteria for learning solutions. Develop unique learning interventions to fulfil specific needs to maintain or improve skills and culture which both engages learners and caters for a variety of learning styles. Apply different evaluation methodology, in order to conduct internal and external evaluation of projects using an appropriate model. Integrate adult learning theory into learning solutions to influence speed of learning and retention. Maintain an enhanced knowledge of learning trends, analysis, design and development, and pro-actively share their findings to ensure best practice within Learning & Development. Contribute to the creation of a learning culture to enable an aligned and consistent approach to learning across technical, behavioural and leadership programs. Design and facilitate 'train-the-trainer' and/ or handover activities to ensure successful transference for delivery, providing coaching and support through the process. Assess learning and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups and communication with leaders, managers, and colleagues. Create and/or acquire learning guides digital content and workshop materials. Assess, evaluate, and update learning material on our LMS. Facilitate learning and development sessions using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, virtually and in person. Provide 1:1 coaching to support individual personal and career development. Work with the OE leadership team to select appropriate external providers and work with them to co-create solutions that meet the technical, behavioural and cultural needs of the business area. Deliver all projects successfully within budget, on time and in line with expectations and in accordance with the project brief. Ensure project communication is effective, efficient and on-brand. QUALIFICATIONS, PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Educated to degree level or equivalent demonstrable experience in a relevant, preferably training related, discipline. Practical experience in training or education. Teaching or learning qualifications (or equivalent experience) would be advantageous. Practical experience in development of training or education materials. formal qualifications in development software or design would be advantageous or experience within a development role. Passionate about learning and the need to provide professional design and development of training. Passionate, persuasive, and confident with the ability to influence people at all levels within NATS, tailoring style to audience. Able to talk authoritatively, credibly and with conviction. Self-motivating with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment with effective communication and a collaborative working style. Experience of leading continuous improvement activities and suggesting appropriate improvements to processes and activities. Detail oriented with a track record in proactively driving change and business improvements. The ability to engage and influence operational and non-operational staff combined with sound judgement to ensure positive outcomes for individuals and a proven track record of planning and developing training solutions. Confident design and developer, able to deal with challenge in a calm and assured manner. Collaborative working style with a clear focus on delivering outcomes. Experience in managing multiple work streams, allocation planning and project management is desirable.
