Job Description
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced or aspiring Engineering Manager to work within the Raytheon Advanced Products Engineering team in the delivery of complex and high-profile programmes.
As a result of new contracts, the modelling team is rapidly growing. We are seeking a highly motivated Project Model Based Engineering Manager to support and lead the team, with a strong background in systems engineering development, delivery, programme tracking, and reporting. This role focuses on cross-functional team development and reports to the Raytheon UK Technology team.
Main Duties
* Provide engineering leadership for a small, multi-location, hybrid team, guiding them through digital transformation adopting model-based engineering principles and aligning with the engineering structure. The role involves supporting the team as a manager and contributor to Advanced Products status reporting and coordination.
* Develop and coordinate system engineering development plans, ensuring execution aligns with Raytheon standards, gating models, and project needs from bid to delivery.
* Manage work packages, including backlog and sprint planning, tracking, and reporting on key performance indicators, collaborating with the Integrated Programme Team.
* Act as the primary external point of contact and liaison for key internal and external customer organizations.
* Work closely with the Design Authority to ensure technical integrity, manage risks and changes, and monitor mitigation strategies.
* Ensure adherence to the programme schedule and budget using earned value techniques.
* Manage and deliver across disciplines, including resource planning, performance management, and recognition.
Candidate Requirements
* Extensive experience in systems engineering and leading multidisciplinary, high-performance teams, with knowledge of MBSE and Agile processes.
* Proven experience leading a modelling team.
* Understanding of product development lifecycles and lifecycle management, including planning and reporting.
* Knowledge of engineering budgets and earned value management.
* Experience in team management, talent recruitment, and performance evaluation.
* Familiarity with work management systems like Jira and MS Project.
* Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and relationship management skills.
* Ability to develop effective solutions for complex business problems.
* Independent working capability and stakeholder advising skills.
* Technical background in systems engineering design and integration.
* BSc/BEng in Engineering, Science, or Aeronautical Engineering.
* Eligibility to obtain SC Clearance.
* Experience in UK/US defense industry or similar sectors.
* Experience with DSP, Navigation systems, MATLAB, and Simulink.
