We’re looking for a reliable and detail-focused Housekeeping & Laundry Assistant who wants more than just a job — someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards and understands the importance of a clean, comfortable environment for residents. In this role, you’ll be responsible for keeping bedrooms, communal areas, and facilities clean, safe, and welcoming, as well as supporting the laundry service to ensure residents’ clothing and linens are handled with care and respect. Your work will play a key part in creating a homely atmosphere where residents feel comfortable and valued every day. This is a 30-hour contract, working shifts from 08:00–14:00 on a 2-week rolling rota that includes every other weekend: Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday You’ll benefit from a consistent routine, a supportive team environment, and the satisfaction of knowing your work makes a real difference to residents’ daily lives. About Kings Hill Kings Hill Care Home is a brand-new, purpose-built care facility set in one of Kent’s most thoughtfully designed modern villages. Opening in Spring 2026, the home has been created from the ground up to support 78 residents with a wide range of needs, including residential, dementia, nursing and respite care. Potential start date is 7th July 2026 Role Responsibilities: Complete all daily and weekly cleaning schedules, and sign necessary paperwork. Follow all guidance from Head Housekeeper. To contribute to the achievement of the Home’s standards for Housekeeping. To undertake general cleaning tasks and follow and carry out any other cleaning duties as delegated by the Head Housekeeper. Carry our laundry duties whenrequired. Ensure the working environment is free from hazards and be aware of the risks when using the equipment. Take responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of adults that the post holderis responsible fororcomes into contact with. Skills and experience required: Previousnon-domestic cleaning and experience of working in a care setting would be beneficial. Ability tooperatecleaning equipment in the Home. Ability to follow simple written and verbal instructions and write basic comments. Communicate effectively with other team members. Display reliability and trustworthiness.
