Agency Family Court Adviser (FCA) – Cafcass (Hampshire & Dorset, Bournemouth or Portsmouth)

* Role: Agency Family Court Adviser (FCA)
* Client: Cafcass
* Location: Bournemouth or Portsmouth (covering Hampshire & Dorset)
* Pay Rate: £40 per hour
* Contract: Temporary (Task/Project)
* Hours: 37 hours per week
The Role
* Provide high‑quality case analysis through Court reports and make clear, robust recommendations to the Court in private law proceedings.
* Engage directly with children and families, ensuring the child's needs, wishes and feelings are central to all work.
* Demonstrate expertise in safeguarding, child engagement, inter‑agency working, case planning, and accurate recording.
* Work confidently with parents, relatives, local authorities, and the Courts.
* Prepare and present oral evidence in Court when required.
This is a demanding role and requires a professional who is resilient, well organised, able to work proportionately, and confident using IT systems, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Essential Criteria
* Qualified Social Worker.
* Registered with Social Work England (SWE).
* Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months via the submitting agency.
* Right to Work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
Desirable Experience
* Proven experience of Court report writing.
* Experience giving evidence in Court.
* Strong understanding of private law proceedings.
Working Arrangements
* Hybrid role.
* Attendance at Court hearings as required.
* Monthly team meetings held in person where possible.
* Induction: Hybrid (in person and remote).
Interviews
Interviews will be held via Microsoft Teams with two managers.
