The Role The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, differentiated teaching to pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. They will create engaging learning experiences, promote positive behaviour, and work collaboratively with a dedicated team of professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils. Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs. Adapt teaching methods and resources to support pupils with diverse SEND requirements. Monitor, assess and record pupil progress, providing regular feedback to parents and carers. Work closely with support staff, therapists, and the wider multi-disciplinary team. Create a safe, stimulating and supportive classroom environment. Contribute to the wider life of the school, promoting inclusion and a positive ethos. Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification. Proven experience teaching pupils with special educational needs (experience in a specialist setting is desirable but not essential). Strong understanding of a range of SEND, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), and Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD). Ability to differentiate learning and use creative strategies to engage and motivate pupils. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
