Job Vacancy: Personal Assistant (Support Worker) for Young Trans Adult
Location: Burnley, Lancashire
Hours: 10.5 hours per week
Rate of Pay: £13 per hour
We are looking for a compassionate, proactive, and LGBT+ friendly Personal Assistant to support a young trans adult in accessing the community and engaging in meaningful activities.
About the Role:
This rewarding position involves providing 1:1 support to a vibrant young woman with ASD and ADHD. Your role will be to help her access and enjoy activities she loves and more importantly have fun! She enjoys activities such as swimming, rock climbing, going out for food and drinks and hair and make-up. You’ll also play an important role in encouraging and motivating her, particularly on days when she may be feeling low, to ensure she remains active and connected with her community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Providing consistent weekly support (10.5 hours) to access the community
• Encouraging and motivating client on low-energy days
• Supporting participation in chosen hobbies and interests
• Promoting independence and confidence
• Driving the client in her Motability car (a clean driving license is essential)
About You:
• Must hold a full, clean driving licence
• Must be LGBTQ+ friendly and respectful of the client’s identity as a trans woman
• Experience or understanding of ASD and ADHD is beneficial
• Must be reliable, encouraging, and positive
• Able to work with sensitivity and respect for personal boundaries
