Job Summary
Fantastic opportunities exist for Therapeutic Radiographers to join the Radiotherapy Department at Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre.
Our department is located in the heart of Bristol, a vibrant cosmopolitan city with plenty of entertainment and leisure facilities, offering a lively lifestyle.
You will have the opportunity to rotate through a large department, gaining experience on 5 Elekta Versa HD linear accelerators. Our pre-treatment area includes 2 dedicated CT scanners with virtual simulation, ultrasound, and MRI facilities.
We provide highly specialised treatments such as Clarity Ultrasound, Gamma Knife Stereotactic Radiotherapy, Paediatric Radiotherapy, and SABR for multiple sites. Our HDR brachytherapy service treats gynaecological, prostate, oesophageal, and skin lesions. Additionally, there is a molecular radiotherapy department with increasing activity as new treatments become available.
We welcome applications from both qualified and newly qualified radiographers. Students qualifying in summer 2025 are encouraged to apply.
If you are newly qualified, we offer a preceptorship programme to support your transition from student to qualified staff member. All staff are involved in service development, and we actively encourage ongoing professional development, including postgraduate learning opportunities to enhance patient-centered care.
Main duties of the job
* Ensure the safe and accurate operation of treatment equipment, undertaking appropriate machine checks and reporting variances promptly.
* Perform and evaluate radiation dose delivery calculations involving various radiation types and energies.
* Interpret, monitor, and evaluate treatment prescriptions to ensure accurate and reproducible radiotherapy delivery.
* Evaluate treatment delivery through application and interpretation of verification procedures.
