About the Role
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Financial Reporting to lead the internal and external reporting practices for our client in Glasgow. This is a key leadership role, reporting directly to the CFO, with responsibility for overseeing financial reporting, technical accounting, and managing high-performing teams across Reporting, System Data Management, and Corporate Services.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy, supporting executive decision-making, and preparing the business for future growth, including potential FTSE 250 readiness.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the preparation of interim and annual financial reports and statements
2. Oversee technical accounting areas including IFRS16, acquisitions, impairment reviews, and going concern assessments
3. Manage the external audit process and relationships with auditors
4. Deliver monthly consolidated management results with full financial analysis and commentary
5. Support the business with technical accounting advice and interpretation of corporate activities
6. Ensure compliance with legal, tax, and financial obligations
7. Drive continuous improvement and innovation across finance operations
8. Lead and develop high-performing teams
9. Provide strategic input and ad hoc analysis for Board and Committee reporting
What We’re Looking For
10. CA / ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified with significant post-qualified experience
11. Proven experience in a senior finance role within a listed, multi-site organisation
12. Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
13. Expertise in financial systems, compliance, and technical accounting
14. Commercially astute with excellent communication and analytical skills
15. A hands-on, solutions-driven approach with the ability to influence at senior levels
