Job Summary

Reporting to the Market Chief of Staff and indirectly to the Institute Chief, the Oncology Vice Chief serves as the doctor leader of an Institute across a market, spanning responsibility across all departments within an Institute. Responsible for doctor practice management within the market, the Oncology Vice Chief serves as key liaison between market leadership and Institute leadership teams.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the clinical design and development of a world leading Oncology service.
2. Lead on recruitment of a comprehensive leading Oncology Department with coverage across all service dependent specialties.
3. Responsible for the performance of the Oncology Institute across the market. Accountable to Institute-based performance goals for growth within a market including for safety, quality and patient experience and patients served.
4. Works closely with commercial teams (Marketing and BD) and other functions (Regulatory, Market Access, Legal) to align on business plans and strategies.
5. Serves as the operational leader for provider groups across departments.
6. Acts as the leadership connection between teams across markets, Institutes, divisions and departments to meet strategic goals and key initiatives for that Institute and market.
7. Provides indirect supervision and input into annual performance reviews for doctors in the market.

Experience:

8. Advanced leadership experience within a matrixed health care environment, preferably in a large Oncology practice or hospital setting
9. Proven history of working with commercial focus and strategic alignment within the Oncology market
10. Research experience
11. Current NHS Teaching Hospital appointment
12. Established London private practice and recognition with all private medical insurers

Education:

13. Full active General Medical Council (GMC) Registration
14. FRCR or MRCP oncology and a higher MD or PhD
15. Fellowship Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) or equivalent; specific area dependent on clinical specialty
16. Inclusion on the specialist register for Clinical or Medical Oncology

Languages:

17. Oral and written communication in English

Certifications:

18. GMC registration, license to practice medicine and registration on the specialist register in the United Kingdom
19. Credentialed as a consultant/specialist in respective area of expertise in United Kingdom

Personal Protective Equipment:

27. Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures
