Accounts Assistant (AAT Level 2 Minimum)
We are working with an established and growing SME with an excellent reputation in our sector, and we are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our friendly finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a minimum of AAT Level 2 who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and professional business environment.
Reporting to the Finance Manager/Director, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day finance function, including:
Responsibilities:
* Raising and issuing customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner
* Managing aged debt reports and maintaining accurate debtor records
* Proactive credit control - chasing overdue payments via phone and email
* Setting up new customer accounts and performing credit checks
* Processing high volumes of supplier invoices
* Coding invoices accurately to the correct nominal ledger accounts
* Preparing supplier payment runs (BACS/cheque)
* Reconciling supplier statements and resolving queries
* Posting and reconciling company credit card transactions
* Performing regular bank reconciliations
* Assisting with VAT return preparation
* Providing general finance and administrative support as required
We are looking for someone who:
* Holds AAT Level 2 (minimum) - Level 3 desirable
* Has previous experience in a similar account's role within an SME
* Has good IT skills (experience with accounting software and Excel preferred)
