Job Description
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will take full responsibility for managing the transport operation during the night shift. You will ensure that all transport activities are completed efficiently, safely, and in line with company standards and legal compliance.Key responsibilities will include:
3. Leading, managing and developing a team of drivers and night operations staff.
4. Overseeing the dispatching and routing of vehicles to meet service level agreements.
5. Ensuring compliance with all transport legislation, health & safety policies, and operational procedures.
6. Proactively identifying and resolving any operational issues that arise during the night shift.
7. Monitoring KPIs and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
8. Acting as the key point of contact for any escalations during night operations.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will have:
9. Proven experience in a transport management or supervisory role within a logistics/freight environment.
10. Strong knowledge of transport legislation, driver hours, and compliance requirements.
11. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams in a fast-paced environment.
12. A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering results.
13. Flexibility to work permanent night shifts.
14. CPC qualification (desirable but not essential).
