What's involved with this role: Temporary Building Surveyor - Responsive Repairs Reference no: S Tyneside 6331514939905 Pay rate: £19.85 per hour PAYE Hours per week: 35-37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours This opening assignment is for 6-7 months City: SOUTH SHIELDS, Tyne & Wear A Building Surveyor is required to work in a busy Repairs and Maintenance Team. Experience of working in a Social Housing Repairs & Maintenance environment is required for this role and must be proficient in damp and condensation identification, general property repair surveys, data collection, checking and collation of survey detail, undertaking structural inspections and providing work packages. Key responsibilities: Ensure projects are completed on budget and to schedule. Advise clients on schemes and projects and determine requirements. Prepare scheme designs with costings, programmes for completion of projects and specification of works. Organise documents for tender and advise on appointing contractors, designers and procurement routes. Determine the condition of existing buildings, identify and analyse defects, including proposals for repair. Advise on energy efficiency, environmental impact and sustainable construction. Instruct on the preservation/conservation of historic buildings. Advise on the management and supervision of maintenance of buildings. Deal with planning applications and advise on property legislation and building regulations. Assess and design buildings to meet the needs of people with disabilities.
