Housing Support Administrator – Temporary Contract (until 31/03/2026)Location: Pitsea, Essex
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm
Salary: £25,254 per annum
Overview:We have an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and customer‑focused individual to join our team on a fixed-term basis. This role is central to the smooth running of our front-line service, acting as the first point of contact for customers, referral partners, and internal colleagues. You will play a key role in ensuring referrals are processed accurately, enquiries are handled efficiently, and our service operates seamlessly on a daily basis.This is a fully office-based position based in Pitsea, Essex and is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy, customer-facing administrative environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Referral & Administration Support
1. Process iing referrals in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring all required information isplete and appropriately logged.
2. Monitor shared inboxes, responding to queries, redirecting enquiries, and escalating issues where necessary.
- Customer & Partner Interaction
3. Act as the first point of contact for customers' duty appointments, offering a friendly and professional wee.
4. Handle iing telephone calls from customers, referral partners, and external agencies, providing advice or signposting to the appropriate team.
5. Build positive working relationships with external partners and internal colleagues to support smooth referral pathways.
- Service Support & Reporting
6. Assist the team in collating data for KPI reporting, ensuring all information is captured accurately and submitted within deadlines.
7. Contribute to continuous service improvement by identifying gaps, issues, or opportunities to enhance processes.
- General Administration
8. Support the Gateway team with day‑to‑day administrative duties
9. Ensure customer information is handled sensitively and confidentially, adhering to GDPR and internal policies.
10. Undertake any additional administrative tasks as required to support the wider team and service delivery.

Essential Skills & Experience:
11. Strong administrative experience in a busy office or customer-facing environment.
12. Excellentmunication skills, both verbal and written.
13. Confident handling phone calls and face-to-face enquiries.
14. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
15. Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office and internal data systems.
16. Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
Desirable:
17. Experience working within a support, housing, social care, or referral-based service.
18. Familiarity with safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection principles.
