This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to work with the Community Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialist Team within Specialist Palliative Care Services. We are based at the Macmillan Day Care Unit, Royal Victoria Hospital, Dundee.
Applications from a Registered Nurse educated to degree level, with experience of working as a Band 6 and some community nursing would be desirable. Experience and post registration education in palliative care is required.
The role of the Associate Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care is to provide expertise and influence patient care via the primary carer by exercising high levels of judgement and decision making in clinical care.
The primary concern of the Associate Clinical Nurse Specialist is to bring the highest standards of clinical care to patients and their families through a variety of means, including the wider specialist palliative MDT in collaboration with our primary care colleagues. This encompasses advancing clinical practice, providing consultation for healthcare professionals, teaching, providing clinical leadership and contributing to research and audit functions.
You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the NMC Register
