S&R Smith and Son, West Thurrock (part of the Lockwood Group of Companies) specialise in general haulage & distribution in and around the South East of England. New business developments on the horizon are allowing us to recruit experienced HGV drivers. We are looking for drivers to be based from S&R Smith and Son, RM20 4EL. Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off nights Hours: 12 hours per day - paid on an average of 3.5 shifts per week Rate: £16.50 per hour Other bonuses: Early start bonus The Role General Haulage To maintain excellent levels customer service To ensure accurate and timely communication with the Transport team To deliver goods in a timely and professional manner We Offer Training opportunities available to develop existing skills i.e. ADR, driver assessor, FLT licences. Very well presented modern fleet that are predominately MAN, Scania, DAF & Iveco Permanent contract with minimum agreed hours paid Paid holiday entitlement (20 days per annum) Workplace pension Overtime availability Full PPE & uniform provided Modern vehicle fleet Funded CPC courses Ideally the candidates would meet the following requirements: Candidates will be a fully qualified HGV Class 1 (CE) driver with a CPC, valid Digi card and a good understanding of Tachograph and WTD rules. You will be reliable and punctual and have a flexible approach Good verbal communication with excellent customer service skills and a professional approach Previous Class 1 experience is preferred but not essential.
