Production Chemist
Salary: £30,000 – £55,000 per year
Location: UK-based (applicants must have the right to work in the UK – sponsorship is not available)
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and detail-focused Production Chemist to join an innovative and growing team. This role is laboratory-based and focuses on testing, analysing, and supporting the manufacture of specialist thermal products used in industrial cooling systems.
The successful candidate will play a key role in quality control, product testing, and manufacturing support, while also acting as a link between R&D and production teams to ensure product quality and performance standards are maintained.
Candidates should be comfortable working in an industrial laboratory environment, performing analytical testing and supporting the scale-up of manufactured products.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing samples for both existing products and new product development
* Carrying out quality control testing on raw materials and finished products against defined thermal and physical specifications
* Analysing samples using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) to assess melting and solidification behaviour
* Conducting additional analytical testing including pH, conductivity, density and related physical measurements
* Supporting the production and development of thermal management materials
* Accurately recording and reporting analytical results using both digital and paper-based systems
* Working closely with R&D and manufacturing teams to support product scale-up and ensure consistency in production
* Supporting research into new formulations, product improvements, and analytical method refinement
About You
* Degree in Chemistry or a related discipline
* Industrial laboratory experience is essential
* Hands-on experience using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) or similar thermal analysis techniques
* Experience working within manufacturing, materials, chemical or industrial product environments
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
* Strong problem-solving ability and confidence working across R&D and production teams
* Organised, adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
* Project management experience would be advantageous
* Flexible and proactive with a willingness to support wider business activities when required
