Location: Office-based (RSPCA Chesterfield Animal Centre, 137 Spital Lane, Chesterfield, S41 0HL) Salary: £16,800-£18,000 per annum (FTE £28,000-£30,000) Hours: 22.5 hours per week (0.6 of FTE) to be worked Monday to Friday between 9.15am and 2.30pm (or such other agreed suitable start and finish time) with 45 mins unpaid break. We are looking for a dedicated Operations Support Manager to join the friendly team based at our Chesterfield Animal Centre where, in this varied and interesting role, no two days are the same and you can have the satisfaction of knowing you are making a true difference. You will play a vital part in furthering our charitable objectives by providing essential administrative and operational management support. Your work will help ensure our charity works efficiently, cost-effectively and in compliance with our legal duties to enable us achieve our shared goal of improving the lives of animals. The Role at a Glance As the Operations Support Manager, you will report directly to the Branch Manager and take on a diverse range of responsibilities: - Operations & Administration: Perform administrative tasks relating to the Branch’s activities and provide support to the Branch Manager. - Health & Safety: Maintain H&S records, review H&S policies, complete risk assessments, and help ensure the Branch is operating safely. - Facilities & Procurement: Oversee buildings maintenance, coordinate gardening/maintenance volunteers, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure the Branch obtains the best value. - Team Leadership: Act as the line manager for our Charity Shop Manager and Volunteer Coordinator. - HR & Finance: Provide HR and finance support to assist with the effective running of the Branch. - Data Protection: Lead the Branch’s GDPR compliance, including maintaining records of data processing and impact assessments. What You Bring - Proven administration and supervisory experience with knowledge of areas relevant to the role. - A proactive approach to managing varied workloads in a small team environment – happy to deal with both routine tasks, such as filing and photocopying, as well as complex projects. - Great attention to detail and problem solving ability. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proficient in the use of IT systems. - A positive and flexible attitude with a willingness to learn. - Reliability and integrity. - A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for local travel.
