Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and ambitious Catastrophe Analyst to join our Latin America and Caribbean Catastrophe Analytics team in Ipswich.
This role offers a chance to contribute to our analytics hub, helping clients understand and mitigate risks from natural disasters. Your work will be vital in ensuring clients are prepared and disciplined in responding to extreme events.

How you'll make an impact
* Contribute to renewal modelling projects for local and global accounts, collaborating with research teams and academic partners.
* Assess catastrophe risk using vendor models and Gallagher Re’s proprietary models.
* Help refine Gallagher Re’s risk perspectives with the latest data and analysis.
* Engage with clients, partners, brokers, and actuaries on model interpretation and portfolio management.
* Support broader analytics projects within the company.
* Evaluate model updates and their impact on outputs.
* Provide post-event reports and analyses of natural disasters to support clients.
* Potentially travel to locations including Miami, Central & South America, and India for collaboration.
About You
* Degree or equivalent in numerate or hazard-related fields preferred.
* Experience in (re)insurance and catastrophe risk analysis is desirable.
* Knowledge of reinsurance structures and their applications is beneficial.
* Strong client relationship skills.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Proficiency in SQL and coding languages like Python or R is desirable.
* Fluent communication skills; Spanish language skills are a plus.
* Team-oriented with a desire to learn and grow in a global environment.
* Legal right to work in the UK required.
