The Role

* Work as a Generic Specialist Practitioner as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team within the Respiratory Virtual Ward.
* Undertake clinical assessment and review of patients via telephone, video call, or face to face in their own homes.
* Review and monitor patients using DOCCLA remote monitoring systems
* Liaise closely with colleagues across the service to ensure continuity and quality of care.
* Report to the Interface Service Manager and participate in relevant working groups to support service improvement and enhanced patient outcome
* Car Driver essential

Additional Information Specific to the Role

* Monday to Sunday 8am 6pm
* Based within NHSL Headquarters at Kirklands Hospital but manage patients across NHSL, including visiting them at their home
* Ability to formulate clinical management plan within scope of practice, or escalate as appropriate
* Clinical Assessment and Non-Medical Prescribing level 10 essential, (but study time will be supported for staff who currently do not possess this at present, but commitment to study and complete must be agreed to at interview)
* Demonstrates excellent leadership, decision making, and patient centred care skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively within an MDT and interface effectively with GP and other colleagues.
* Virtual/remote healthcare experience desirable but not essential.

What we'll need you to bring

* Registered Nurse with valid NMC
* Educated to Degree Level
* Post graduate qualification at a minimum of Level 10 (Hons) or working towards
* Expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
* Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
* Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice
* Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
* Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
* The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
* Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Effective time management skills
* Working knowledge of basic information technology
* Be able to work Pan Lanarkshire between acute and community settings.
* Can be flexible with hours of work
* A driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.


It would be great if you also have

* Prescribing level 10
* Clinical decision making level 10
* Anatomy and physiology
* Consideration will be given If above not achieved must be fully committed to undertake above courses
* Relevant expert practice in the specialty (Respiratory) and current evidence of relevant continued professional development including study day/course/post graduate qualification
* Evidence of recent personal contribution to service planning and redesign projects
* Navigate current and new IT systems within NHSL's use
* Ability to plan and organise workload within a busy service under direction of Job plan/ autonomously with in NHSL policies
* Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively across professional boundaries and with all stakeholders
* Ability to monitor effectiveness of own and others' clinical practice through quality assurance strategies such as audit, peer review and clinical supervision
* Awareness of the ability to work in accordance with relevant national and local healthcare policies
* Undertake Specialist Clinics within NHSL policies/ knowledge/ skills ability

This role will be based in Respiratory - Virtual Wards within Kirklands - NHSL Headquarters.

The working pattern for this role is Monday to Sunday 8am 6pm
