Annual salary: up to £38,512.00 Electrician Location: Medway Contract: Full Time, Permanent Salary: Up to £38,512.00 per annum, plus company van & fuel card Hours: 42.5 hours per week (8–5, Monday–Friday) We’re currently looking for a skilled and qualified Repairs & Maintenance Electrician to join our team. This is a hands-on, field-based role where you’ll be responsible for carrying out reactive and planned electrical repairs across occupied domestic properties. This role is ideal for an electrician who enjoys problem-solving, working in people’s homes, and delivering a high-quality, customer-focused repairs service. About the Role You’ll play a vital role in maintaining the safety, compliance, and comfort of residents’ homes. Working across our housing stock, you’ll complete day-to-day reactive repairs, planned maintenance tasks, and occasional minor installation works. Electrical Duties Carry out reactive and planned electrical repairs within domestic properties Fault finding and repairs to lighting circuits, sockets, consumer units/fuseboards, and associated electrical systems Inspect, test, and certify electrical installations to ensure safety and compliance with current regulations Repair or replace faulty components including switches, sockets, light fittings, circuit breakers, and extractor fans Complete minor installation works as required as part of maintenance or refurbishment programmes Work independently or as part of a team to achieve daily repair and productivity targets Communicate clearly and professionally with tenants or residents, explaining works undertaken and expected outcomes Ensure work areas are left clean, safe, and tidy on completion Accurately complete job records using relevant IT systems to manage and prioritise workload Adhere to all health and safety policies, procedures, and safe systems of work Deliver consistently high levels of customer service Participate in emergency and out-of-hours call-out rotas where required Role Criteria NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations (including AM2) City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (Candidates with 17th Edition will be supported to achieve 18th Edition) Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record Proven experience working in domestic properties, ideally within social housing or repairs & maintenance Inspection & Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent – 2394/2395) desirable Benefits We Can Offer You 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Annual Mears Fun Day – a thank you from our Executive team Volunteering Leave – paid time to support community initiatives Mears Rewards – discounts on groceries, holidays, eye tests, Share Save scheme and more Family-friendly policies Company van, fuel card, uniform and PPE provided All roles require candidates to have the right to work in the UK.
