We are currently looking for an experienced and driven Production Manager to join our team based at our factory in Steeton, West Yorkshire.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00am - 4.30pm
Salary: £45,000
Key Responsibilities
* Production & Delivery Strategy: Execute the multi-shift production plan to meet customer demand for custom stairlifts, optimizing capacity, workflow, and labor utilization.
* Team Leadership & Development: Oversee a 24‑hour (3‑shift) operation, coaching Shift Supervisors, setting clear performance standards, and ensuring seamless shift handovers.
* Health, Safety & Quality Compliance: Champion a "safety‑first" and "right first time" culture, ensuring strict adherence to HSE regulations and safety‑critical product standards while actively reducing defects and rework.
* Performance & KPI Management: Track, report, and drive accountability across core operational KPIs, including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), output, scrap, downtime, and absenteeism.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify process bottlenecks and lead targeted improvement initiatives to maximize throughput, minimize waste, and control manufacturing costs (labor and materials).
* Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with Supply Chain to ensure material availability, Quality to resolve warranty issues, and Maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Proven experience managing production in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience leading multi‑shift teams.
* Background in manufacturing production.
* Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
* Excellent organisational and planning skills in a high‑volume environment.
* Ability to manage complexity across multiple shifts.
* Data‑driven decision making (KPIs, OEE, labour metrics).
* Strong communication, especially for cross‑shift alignment.
