Stopford House / Stockport Community; a regular and consistent office presence will be required for up to 4 days per week; potential for hybrid and home working.

Your Role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join our learning disability and Early adulthood service; to help us continue our journey to improve our offer to Stockport residents. As a lead officer we will look to you to provide operational oversight of the Learning disability and Early adulthood Teams and the delivery of our strategic aims. Working closely with the head of service you will ensure delivery of quality, improvement and relational leadership (especially with Children’s services).
We are looking for someone who is passionate about leading services and outcomes that push our strategic aim around Gloriously Ordinary Lives.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a learning disability and Early Adult hood social care team, ensuring the operational running of the services.
* Ensuring the delivery of high-quality social care services to residents and their carers.
* Offering support to the Team managers and teams within the service, providing regular supervision and conversations.
* Ensuring the right support at the right time is received by residents and their families; ensuring quality and best value, putting people at the heart of what we do.
* Working collaboratively with all stakeholders, partners and colleagues to ensure the best outcome for all and chairing and attending appropriate board meetings.
* Ensuring the service advocates positively for people who have a learning disability and may have cooccurring conditions or multilayered issues, and ensuring they have timely access to support.
* Advocating for young people as they become young adults, ensuring timely access to support.
* Working with other senior colleagues across the directorate to ensure an equitable approach of ASC in Stockport.
* Where required, being available for an on-call rota for Adult Social Care providing senior management support in the event of an emergency or urgent decision-making.
About You
We are looking for an experienced registered Social Worker who can bring demonstrable experience of strategic and operational management in Adult Social Care to this role.
You will be knowledgeable and have a developed understanding of relevant legislation along with the challenges and opportunities within Adult Social Care including Learning disability and Early Adulthood services. A UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for work purposes would be beneficial.
