Purpose of the job: To support the department's transition to CATIA CAD software by designing tooling for composite components, managing CAD data, and collaborating with departments to resolve tooling issues.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and model patterns, moulds, and fixtures in CATIA
* Create technical tooling drawings for manufacturing and assembly
* Compare data files to identify differences
* Analyze models and customer requirements
* Support production with design information
Communication:
* Coordinate with Projects, Production, and Design teams to ensure project targets
* Use project notes and customer data to understand requirements
* Specify BOM items and develop departmental drawings/manuals
* Liaise with suppliers for quotes
Change Management:
* Communicate issues to Projects
* Define process changes and tooling requirements for changes
Skills:
* Proficient in CATIA
* Experience in tooling design
* Understanding of technical and laminate drawings
* Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
* Excellent IT skills (Excel, PowerPoint)
* Understanding of composite manufacturing
* Flexible, well-organized, and communicative
