Thrombectomy Nurse Band 6 - 37 Hours per week Fixed Term for 12 months Location: Acute Stroke Unit, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join the Acute Stroke Unit as a thrombectomy nurse. We are seeking an experienced nurse who will further enhance our team managing acute stroke patients admitted mainly from ED and identify patients for thrombolysis and thrombectomy and assist in the transfer to Ninewells Hospital. The successful candidate should have an understanding of the Scottish Stroke Care Audit and Standards. You should be a registered general nurse(part 1 of the NMC register) with previous experience in an acute setting. You should be able to demonstrate continued professional development and an interest in acute stroke care. You will demonstrate safe clinical decision making and expert care and advice for patients who have suffered a stroke. You should also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be expected to work flexibly to meet the need of the service. The ideal candidate will have completed Stroke TIA Assessment Training(STAT),STAT,dysphagia awareness,Stroke Training and Awareness resource and Advancing modules(STARS). Appropriate stroke training can be given.
