Overview of the Contracts Lawyer position
We are recruiting an experienced Contracts Lawyer to join a busy but friendly London Council. The role involves dealing with a variety of commercial contracts and procurement matters. The position is permanent, hybrid with preference for one to two days per week in the office and full-time hours.
Key responsibilities of the Contracts Lawyer
* Dealing with matters relating to commercial contracts and procurement matters including:
o Dealing with the new procurement act
o Construction contracts
o Framework agreements
o Provider selection regime and contracts relating to public health
* To deputise for others in more senior positions as and when required
Experience/qualifications required for the Contracts Lawyer
* Must be a qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or CILEx) with a current practising certificate - all PQE levels will be considered
* Able to work on a hybrid basis one to two days per week in the office
* This role requires someone who is able to work full-time, part-time requests will be considered
* You must have strong experience in contracts law ideally from within a local authority setting, knowledge of local authority governance is key for this role
