Responsibilities
* Providing specialist occupational therapy assessment and treatment to patients in the community with Stroke and with a variety of complex neurological needs, taking into consideration the patient's physical/cognitive/perceptual skills to identify the patient's abilities and areas of difficulty.
* Taking a role in the leadership of junior staff and support assistants, through supervision, training and appraisal.
* Achieving and maintaining quality care through the delivery of evidence based practice and adherence with national guidelines.
* Working as part of the multidisciplinary team across the Stroke and Neurology pathway liaising and supporting our specialist nurses in the community as required.
There is a well‑established appraisal system and a commitment to support staff to develop leadership and clinical skills through regular supervision, our structured in‑service programme and internal and external training opportunities.
To be a competent and strong Occupational Therapist with appetite to work in a fast‑paced environment. You will need strong clinical reasoning skills alongside effective communication to be able to manage difficult situations.
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,714 to a maximum of £5,941 p.a. pro rata for part time).
