An opportunity has arisen for a newPractice Nurse to join our team.
We are looking for a practice nurse to work 2 full days a week. Working days available within our practice are Monday, Wednesday or Friday. Unfortunately these are non negotiable due to room capacity at both sites.
The successful applicant would beexpected to provide nursing services to the practice population with evidencebased, quality focused care. To assess, plan, implement and evaluate care. Toensure clear channels of communication exist between clinical, administrativeand community teams. To project a positive and friendly image to our patientsand other professionals.
Successful candidates would be expected to work across both sites, support with annual leave/sickness and may participate in extended hours.
Main duties of the job
Requirements include but not limitedto:
Teamwork - Expected to displaya high standard of teamwork.
Principal Responsibilities - To provideassessment, treatment, screening and health education services and advice,working in accordance with set protocols.
Professional Responsibilities - To be qualified anda member of the NMC. Maintain continued education by attendance at coursesnecessary for personal/professional development. To have the ability to work onown initiative. Recognising when referral to other health professionals isneeded. The ability to carry out wound management, blood pressure, injections,smears, child and adult immunisations. Sexual health, chronic diseasemanagement. To be conversant with QOF, read coding and audits.
Administrative responsibilities - Maintainaccurate records of all consultations and treatments both written andcomputerised.
In addition - Attend meetings asappropriate, including PCN, Academic half days, primary care meetings and othernursing requirements associated with being part of a PCN. Have due regard forhealth and safety, along with confidentiality.
About us
The practice is managed by 5 GP Partners and the Practice Manager.
Additional team members are a further 3 GPs, 3 Physicians Associates and 4 members of the nursing team. There are approximately 18 administrative and reception team members. We also actively collaborate with Bromley Clinical Commissioning Group and 2 other practices as a Primary Care Network team.
The practice values each other and the skills individuals contribute to the practice both in terms of daily work schedule and the delivering of patient care.
We take part in practice based research. We are also a training practice for medical students and trainee nurses and we offer excellent support and training, the opportunity to gain new skills and knowledge in a friendly learning environment, and an exciting opportunity for someone who is interested in working in a well-established and growing practice.

Qualifications
Essential
1. (Academic/Professional)
2. Nursing Degree minimum 12 months post and registered with NMC
3. Willingness to learn and acquire new skills in Post-registration studies allied to general practice
4. Understanding of computer based medical records management
5. Knowledge and application of supporting long-term conditions
6. Worked in General Practice environment Minor illness, minor injury, family planning and immunisations
7. Insight and understanding of current issues in nursing and NHS especially Primary Care.
8. Understanding of computer based medical records
9. Computer literate.
10. Excellent verbal communication & interpersonal skills
11. Sound knowledge of computer literacy
12. Ability to work with staff of all levels in a positive, helpful and constructive manner.
