The role
We are looking for technical, enthusiastic and flexible people with a keen eye for detail. Based at our Hellaby site, Rotherham, and reporting to a shift leader, your main task will be to contribute to the departmental goals each day including quality control, part collection/material preparation whilst ensuring all departmental responsibilities are to standard.This can be a physically demanding role. Energy and enthusiasm and a positive outlook are essential.
The position will also involve:
1. inspecting finished products and identifying defects in components or goods
2. operating machinery and equipment to a high standard to achieve production targets
3. carrying out basic fault-finding to resolve machinery or production inefficiencies
4. reading, understanding, and following relevant SOPs to ensure health, safety, and quality standards are upheld
5. supporting process engineers during changeovers
6. completing daily asset care activities
7. maintaining and promoting 5S standards across the department
8. using IT systems to update works orders, track overall equipment efficiency (OEE), and record quality checks
Working hours
The position will entail working a regular 3 shift pattern, mornings, nights and afternoons (Monday to Friday).Weekend work may also be required to meet the demands of the business, and you may also be required to help in other areas on site. A flexible, ‘can do’ attitude is therefore paramount.

9. a good mechanical aptitude and a passion for engineering
10. numeracy skills and an ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, with a good standard of written and spoken English
