Job Overview

As a Culture and Colleague Experience Advisor you will proactively support the development, implementation, and evaluation of work to drive positive culture change through the provision of a wide breadth of support. This will include such things as project management, stakeholder coordination, data analytics, event management and administration duties, with the aim of supporting and driving an equitable colleague experience at work, where we all feel save to grow and thrive making Bristol NHS Group the best place to work.

The role will be integral to the delivery of the Culture and Colleague Experience strategic action plans that cover our three main cultural programmes of work: Colleague Experience, Diversity Equality and Inclusion and Workplace Wellbeing.

We have 1.0 FTE available across the team, with flexibility in the number of roles and work patterns available. The role will have a primary area of responsibility within the team, focussing on one of the core areas of work, whilst also offering flexible and agile support across all areas of the OD team when required.

Main duties of the job

Culture and Colleague Experience Advisors help to shape the culture across the Trust. We work with leaders and teams to place our Trust values at the heart of everything we do, we listen to the colleague voice to shape changes that impact you, we engage colleagues to shape a holistic approach to looking after ourselves and each other and we are working together to build an inclusive culture where everyone feels truly safe to be themselves.

The role of a Culture and Colleague Experience Advisor is to proactively support the development, implementation, and evaluation of work to drive positive culture change. They will be responsible for a wide range of development solutions and interventions that deliver sustainable improvements to the colleague experience at work.

The post holder will cover a broad range of specialist culture change agendas including Colleague Experience, Diversity Equity and inclusion (Pro-equity) and Workplace Wellbeing.

On this occasion we are looking for colleagues interested in Colleague Experience or Diversity Equity and Inclusion and are keen to hear from colleagues who have a data background. Qualifications And Training

Essential criteria


* Relevant experience or educated to degree-level (or equivalent qualification)
* Experience of working in large complex organisation
* Demonstrate ongoing continued professional development

Desirable criteria

* Appropriate professional qualification in organisational development or people services (HR, L&D etc) e.g. CIPD
* Qualifications/ training in coaching, mentoring, MBTI or similar development tools

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria

* Previous experience in coordinating projects, effectively engaging with stakeholders and delivering initiatives to agreed timeframes and budgets
* Previous experience supporting or delivering events, focus groups or training
* Experience of analysing data and creating reports
* Evidence of experience in the work of at least one of the following: HR / OD, EDI, Staff engagement, Staff Experience, Learning and Development

Desirable criteria

* Knowledge of contemporary Diversity Equity and Inclusion practices, laws and best practice
* Experience in the delivery and understanding of the staff engagement agenda
* Experience of devising, communicating and analysing surveys
* Experience of working with senior teams or external stakeholders

Skills And Abilities

Essential criteria

* Exceptional communication skills including strong written communication and engaging presentation skills
* Excellent IT skills including using Microsoft software such as PowerPoint, Word, Teams, SharePoint and Excel and other relevant software
* Ability to develop positive, compassionate, collaborative relationships within internal and external stakeholders at all levels
* Ability to work in an agile way, managing own work schedule and being flexible to meet changing service requirements at short notice
* Ability to solve problems, use initiative and act with autonomy in the areas of the job role they are responsible for

Desirable criteria

* Demonstrates evidence-based practice
* A broad understanding of the Organisational Development agenda within the Bristol NHS Group
* High levels of self-awareness, general awareness and sensitivity to the needs of staff with protected characteristics
