A specialist school in Devizes is seeking a Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join their team and play a key role in supporting students with social and emotional needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain real-world experience in a trauma-informed school. The specialist setting caters for children and teenagers with a range of mental health needs, including trauma, PTSD, depression and attachment needs, as well as other Special Educational Needs, such as autism and ADHD.
Responsibilities
* Support pupils with their learning, as well as their emotional needs.
* Help students build resilience, emotional regulation, and social skills in a safe and structured environment.
* Help manage challenging and anti-social behaviours by building meaningful relationships.
* Gain an in-depth understanding of trauma-informed practices, attachment theory, and behaviour as a form of communication.
* Collaborate with Teachers, Therapists and other support staff.
