What You’ll Be Doing
Step into an exciting opportunity with our newly formed Mechanical Engineering team in Coventry! You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering essential ship services, crew life support capabilities, and cutting-edge equipment for the current and next generation of Nuclear Submarines. Your expertise will directly support the design and development of critical systems for the SSN AUKUS.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and develop innovative mechanical engineering systems, equipment, and components.
* Build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure equipment meets challenging specifications.
* Collaborate with customers to define requirements and acceptance criteria based on real-world scenarios.
* Perform and review engineering calculations and analyses to guide decision-making and demonstrate system performance.
* Coordinate and influence a diverse stakeholder base to tackle complex engineering challenges.
Your Skills and Experiences
Essential:
* Background in Mechanical Engineering, particularly in Rotating Machinery, Components, or Fluid Dynamics.
* Proven experience in applying mechanical engineering principles across various product lifecycles.
* Strong prioritization skills and the ability to thrive in a cross-functional team environment.
* A passion for problem-solving and tackling complex engineering calculations.
* Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, or Science subjects.
Desirable:
* Experience in leadership or mentoring roles.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer in our Platform Systems team, you’ll be part of a dynamic group of passionate engineers dedicated to innovating submarine design. You’ll have the chance to mentor junior staff and enhance your technical skills. Plus, we offer relocation support for eligible candidates across all Submarine roles.
