Milk Education are recruiting for a purpose-driven, ambitious unqualified Teaching Assistant to join a SEND school based in Ashington. This is a full-time, temp to perm position supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, starting in September.

Working hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm

You will be joining an inclusive and supportive SEND school that values diversity and provides a nurturing, structured environment tailored to meet the individual needs of every child.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced or aspiring educator who is passionate about supporting children with Autism and a range of additional needs.

What You’ll Be Doing in the Role:
Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
Provide consistent 1:1 support tailored to individual learning and behavioural needs
Support pupils with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
Work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver personalised learning plans
Deliver catch-up, intervention and sensory-based activities where required

Essential Requirements:
Recent and relevant experience working with children and young people with SEND, particularly Autism
A genuine passion for SEND education and supporting pupil development
Strong literacy and numeracy skills
Ability to work effectively under the guidance of the class teacher and wider SEND team
