Location: Libanus, Brecon, Powys
Pay: £12.35 per hour
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 35 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 08:00 – 18:00
* 3 days one week / 4 days the following week (rota basis)

We're looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join the catering team at The Mountains Care Home, a specialist dementia and mental health nursing home set in the beautiful Brecon Beacons.
This is a hands-on role supporting our Cook and helping ensure meals are prepared and served in a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen environment.

The Mountains is a 50-bed nursing home providing high-quality care for older adults living with dementia, Alzheimer's, and mental health conditions. Our home has a strong family atmosphere, supported by a committed and friendly team.
Your Role
As a Kitchen Assistant, you'll play an important part in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. Duties will include:
* Supporting the Cook with day-to-day kitchen tasks
* Washing up, cleaning equipment, and maintaining kitchen hygiene
* Cleaning work surfaces, floors, and kitchen areas
* Assisting with basic food preparation as required
* Following food hygiene, infection control, and health & safety procedures
* Supporting the smooth running of meal services
What We're Looking For
Reliable, punctual, and willing to help
Able to work as part of a team and follow instructions
Experience in a kitchen or care environment preferred but not essential
Basic understanding of food hygiene and cleanliness (training provided)
Positive attitude and good attention to detail
