Procurement Officer
Location: Kettering
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000.
Overview
We are recruiting for a Procurement Officer to join a manufacturing business in Kettering. The role is responsible for managing day-to-day purchasing activity, ensuring materials and services are sourced cost-effectively, delivered on time, and meet required quality standards.
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will play a key role in supplier management, cost control, and supporting production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage daily procurement of materials, components, and services
* Develop and maintain relationships with a global supplier base
* Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms
* Monitor supplier performance and resolve quality/supply issues
* Identify and onboard new suppliers
* Support production planning through material availability
* Track deliveries and manage supply risks
* Analyse procurement data and improve processes
* Report on procurement KPIs and cost performance
About You
* Procurement/purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
* Good understanding of supply chain and procurement processes
* Highly organised with strong communication skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems
Desirable
* CIPS qualified or studying
* Knowledge of import/export processes
