This post leads the operational delivery of the Families and Specialist Services Division and, with Director of Operations colleagues, is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of clinical and operational services across the Trust and the wider health and social care system.

The Post Holder Will Be Expected To
1. Provide senior managerial and leadership support to the COO, ensuring that the divisional service improvement, finance, and workforce plan is devised, monitored, and delivered against agreed performance criteria.
2. Ensure that services are safe and offer a quality staff and patient experience.
3. Ensure that appropriate support is provided to the COO and Divisional Director to facilitate compliance with required performance measures, including improvements against CQC recommendations and robust financial management.
4. Foster an effective team working style across Divisions and adopt a corporate approach to decision-making, ensuring the wider agenda is reflected within divisional priorities.
5. Ensure services maximise opportunities of digital developments and take a lead role in data quality initiatives.
6. Identify stakeholders and develop excellent relationships with them, working collaboratively across the local health and social care community to shape the local integrated service strategy.
7. This strategy prioritizes improved patient experience and clinical excellence, achieved through system and process improvements, as well as organisational and personal development.
8. Develop sustainable plans to mainstream clinical service delivery and improvement work.
9. Recognising the seniority of the role, the post holder may be required to lead on cross-divisional projects.
We employ over 6,500 staff delivering compassionate care across our hospitals, community sites, health centres, and in patients’ homes. We are proud to have nearly 150 volunteers.
Our services include urgent and emergency care, medical, surgical, maternity, gynaecology, critical care, children’s and young people’s services, end-of-life care, and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services.
We also provide community health services, including sexual health services in Calderdale from Calderdale Royal and local health centres such as Todmorden Health Centre and Broad Street Plaza.
