About The Role
To carry out on-site commissioning, fault diagnosis, maintenance, inspections, repairs, and modification of BRUSH’s range of Switchgear products.
Key Responsibilities
* Largely working in a shadow role, commission, repair and conduct maintenance of the BRUSH range of Switchgear products, both on site and in the Brush Blackwood factory.
* Test and commission low complexity new installations of 11kV switchgear.
* Test and commission low complexity modifications to existing 11kV switchgear installations.
* Undergo high voltage pressure testing training and prove skill set competency whilst in a shadow role.
* Undertake fault diagnosis of switchgear and related equipment; test and rectify, as necessary.
* Prepare detailed and concise reports for submission to customers. Attend technical meetings on site and at customers’ premises as required.
* Undergo training to ensure current and future health & safety requirements are met.
* Supervise and train customers’ site personnel.
* Carry out on-site dynamic risk assessments for assignments and record details.
* Provide written reports on completion of each assignment.
* Accurately record time, attendance and retain VAT receipts for expense claims.
* Adhere to health and safety duties and observe relevant systems, rules, and methods of working.
* Ensure data protection activities comply with the company’s Data Protection Policy for current employees, customers, and external stakeholders.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills
* Experience in dealing with customers effectively.
* Minimum HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.

* Experience representing the company at customers’ sites and operating remotely on own initiative while following the company code of conduct for commissioning engineers
* Ability to work with health and safety rules, including safe systems of work for high and medium voltage electrical systems and in heavy industrial environments
