A large housing association are recruiting in Wigan for a Housing Project Officer for their Young People’s Support Service, to support young people on their journey to independence in a dynamic supported housing environment.
THE ROLE
We are currently recruiting for a Housing Project Officer to join a leading Housing Association in Wigan, supporting young people within a supported housing service. The postholder will provide one-to-one and group support, develop tailored support and risk plans, and help young people gain the skills and confidence to move on successfully into independent living.
Manage a caseload of young people and maintain up-to-date support plans and risk assessments
Conduct keywork sessions and provide practical support with life skills and budgeting
Help residents engage with education, employment, and health services
Carry out flat checks and maintain a safe and secure environment
Work on a lone basis at the project between 8-9am and 5-8pm on a rota
Keep accurate and confidential records, including Datix, risk logs, and support documents
Work collaboratively with external agencies including social workers, police, and probation
THE CANDIDATE
We’re looking for a passionate and resilient individual with experience supporting young or vulnerable people, ideally within a supported housing or social care setting. You’ll need to be empathetic, organised, and able to manage your own diary and caseload independently.
Experience working in supported housing or with vulnerable young people
Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and procedures
Ability to build positive, professional relationships with residents and external agencies
Confident lone worker with initiative and crisis management skills
Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to maintain accurate records
THE CONTRACT
The role is full time, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility on hours.
Ideally, you will work on a rota of 8am–4pm one week and 12pm–8pm the following week.
This is a 3-month temporary contract with the potential to become permanent.
The pay for the role is £18.56 per hour LTD company rate. The PAYE equivalent is £15.93 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.
