Accounts Assistant

Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 09:00 - 17:00, 37 Hours per week

Job Responsibilities
* Work with the finance team to manage financial accounting, reporting, and internal controls.
* Help prepare revenue budgets and close accounts monthly and quarterly.
* Monitor expenses and prepare grant claims and statistical returns.
* Oversee income billing and cashflow processes.
* Manage the purchase ledger, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
* Ensure accuracy of general ledger transactions with supporting documentation.
* Maintain banking arrangements, including bank reconciliations and cashflow forecasting.
* Assist with VAT account reconciliation and monthly VAT returns.
* Contribute to improving financial processes and documentations.
* Participate actively in promoting equality and comply with health and safety regulations.
* Work from various locations as required.
Person Specifications
Must Have
* AAT Level 2 or equivalent qualification in accounting.
* Basic understanding of accounting functions.
* Experience in a team environment.
* Proficiency in Word and Excel.
* Ability to produce high-quality work and maintain good working papers.
* Self-motivated and willing to learn.
* Good time management and interpersonal skills.
* Commitment to teamwork and equal opportunity policies.
Nice to Have
* Knowledge of Local Government or Public Sector Finance.
* Ability to communicate in Welsh or willingness to learn.
* Full and valid driving license.
