Automotive Apprenticeship Assessor
Location: Chesterfield (Field Based)
Compensation: Up to £37,602 per year + 41 days holiday, Local Government Pension, Monday to Friday, Excellent Staff Benefits

This established and highly regarded education provider is known for delivering exceptional apprenticeship training and maintaining strong partnerships with employers across the region. With continued demand for skilled technicians in the automotive sector, the college is expanding its apprenticeship provision and is now looking for an experienced Automotive Work‑Based Tutor to join the team.
In this role, you will manage a caseload of apprentices working towards Autocare Technician and Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (Light Vehicle) standards. You will carry out workplace visits, support learners with their development, and assess their competence against the required apprenticeship standards. You will also work closely with employers and internal teams to ensure all aspects of the apprenticeship programme are completed successfully, including Functional Skills and preparation for End Point Assessment.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Motor Vehicle Technician with strong industry knowledge and a passion for developing others. You will hold an Assessor qualification such as A1, D32/D33 or TAQA.
Responsibilities
* Manage and support a caseload of automotive apprentices
* Carry out workplace visits, assessments and progress reviews
* Provide coaching and mentoring to support learner development
* Work closely with employers to ensure apprenticeship success
* Support learners through Functional Skills and End Point Assessment preparation
* Monday to Friday role with travel to employer sites
Person Specification
* Strong background as a Motor Vehicle Technician or Automotive professional
* Level 3 qualification within Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
* Assessor qualification (A1, D32/D33 or TAQA)
* Excellent communication and organisation skills
* Passionate about supporting apprentices and developing future technicians
The salary advertised is the bracket available for this position. The actual salary paid will be dependent on your level of experience, qualifications and skill set and will be decided by our client, the employer.
