Overview

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to start your career with Oldham Council as a HR/OD Apprentice, completing the Level 3 Business Administration qualification. Working across the HR & OD service, you will provide key support to enable the delivery of the Workforce Strategy and associated plans. Working as part of a team to support various officers, you will contribute to an excellent service being provided for the rest of the organisation.


Responsibilities

* Provide administrative support across the HR and Organisational Development Directorate.
* Deal with office and email enquiries in a professional manner; take ownership of queries and actively resolve them, referring to HR and OD colleagues as needed.
* Use a range of computer packages and systems (e.g., typing letters in Word, entering data in Excel, updating calendars in Outlook, iTrent, JobTrain).
* Support colleagues administratively with various projects and contribute ideas to improve delivery.
* Arrange and support meetings, including minute taking where required.
* Support the setup and administration of training events (online via MS Teams/Zoom and face to face).
* Carry out general administrative duties, including online filing and managing/updating documents and files.
* Assist with the production of statistical information and download reports for internal and external purposes.
* Raising purchase orders, goods receipting and checking invoices.
* Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.


Qualifications / Requirements

* Sufficient literacy and numeracy skills.
* Ability to use IT applications related to the post (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, HR systems).
* Willingness to complete the Business Administration Level 3 qualification.
